Grand Ole Gospel
Welcome

Gospel  music is no doubt the greatest music on earth. Our grandparents used to talk about neighbors getting together on the front porch on Sunday afternoons to sing gospel hymns. Many secular artist got their start singing traditional gospel music. There are many forms of gospel music and today there seems to be a trend to do away completely with the songs we have grown to love and cherish, songs like "Amazing Grace", "Because He Lives" and so many others that we grew up worshiping with. Most of us here in the "Bible Belt" grew up on "Southern Gospel" music. Groups like the Stamps Quartet, Blackwood Brothers, The Statesmen Quartet, Speer Family, Chuck Wagon Gang , and host of others pioneered the popularity of Southern Gospel Music. On the local level numerous part-time groups were organized from duets , trios, to quartets. It seemed there was a group on every corner. Today we are seeing a great decline in traditional gospel music as well as groups, especially in our churches. While we respect all forms of gospel music we believe that those of us who still love the music we grew up with deserve to hear those cherished songs and should strive to preserve the music we love.

Ask any full-time gospel artist and they will tell you that part-time groups are the backbone Southern Gospel Music. Our region is fortunate to still have those who sing Southern Gospel Music on a part-time basis.

Southern Gospel Music is entertaining, uplifting, and most of all has a message of hope and gives praise to our Lord and Savior.
